With its unusual vertical, compact design, Creative's new flagship stereo speaker system features touch controls and a multitude of wired and wireless connectivity options for your mobile phone, tablet, Mac, and PC. Today, we will tell you if there is enough room in the "mix" for great sound as well.

Creative Sound Blaster AXX 200

For over twenty-five years, Creative Technology Limited has designed and manufactured the world's most popular sound cards for PC gaming. The company's large and loyal fan base has allowed Creative to expand its product offerings beyond its core sound card line to include speakers, headphones, wired and wireless PC gaming headsets, and MP3 players, among other things.

Creative's newest product, the Sound Blaster AXX 200 Intelligent Wireless Sound System, not only incorporates many similar features of Creative's previous products, but also a blend of popular new technologies as well.

The AXX 200 offers cross platform hardware and software compatibility with PCs, Macs, tablets, and smart phones. With consumers adapting and simultaneously using so many different devices, the AXX 200's numerous wired and wireless connectivity options will definitely grab attention and add both value and relevance to the product.

The wireless audio product market has become quite competitive in the last few years, so the AXX 200 Speaker System will have to bring something special to the table to make it stand out from the crowd.

Product Pricing

The Sound Blaster AXX 200 Intelligent Wireless Sound System is available from Amazon for $149.99 with Prime Shipping. There is also an optional battery recharging station, the AXX 200/100 Docking Base, that is available from Amazon for $59.99 with Prime Shipping.

If the two items are purchased together through Amazon, buyers can save $30.00 by using Promo Code "AXX200DB" at checkout which makes the cost for the charging base much more palatable.

Product Packaging

Creative chose a sharp black and red color scheme for the AXX 200's retail packaging. Creative uses a similar color scheme for its new Sound Blaster Z sound cards and EVO headsets.

Inside the box, the AXX 200 speaker system is wrapped in a sheet of thick foam paper while its top and bottom are secured in place with molded pieces of foam. The product's included accessories are wrapped in plastic and remain separated from the speaker behind a cardboard partition.

Every compatible device, operating system, and hardware and software feature is listed on the box's front, side, and back panels. A QR code is present as well and a quick scan with your smartphone or tablet will take you to Creative's AXX 200 microsite. The site is packed with product specifications, features, and humorous technology demonstration videos.

The AXX 200/100 Docking Base charging station also has black and red retail packaging. The docking base and its accessories are wrapped and separated in a similar manner to the AXX 200 Speaker system.

Quick start guides, warranty statements, and manual addendum are included with both products.

Warranty

The Sound Blaster AXX 200 speaker system and the AXX 200/100 Docking Base accessory both carry a one year limited warranty. With items as pricey as these, I would have much rather seen a two year warranty period or longer included with each product, but after looking at similar products currently on the market, a one year term seems to be typical.
